Meditations on The Message is a Meditation Retreat that focuses on the teachings of Hazrat Inayat Khan. The classes below focus on a body of teachings on The Development of Personality and on Breath. The Subtle Waves of Breath
April 4, 2009
In the words of Hazrat Inayat Khan, "Inhaling shows the power of absorption which is manifest in all living beings and in all objects. Little germs, worms, trees and plants all absorb, and in that way they breathe. Also in all living beings and in all things there is a tendency to put out an element which does not belong to them, in other words an element which their system will not assimilate."

Breath is Likened to Water
March 7, 2009
In the words of Hazrat Inayat Khan, "Breath is likened to water. The flowing of the breath is like the flowing of a stream. Inhalation and exhalation show ebb and flow. Parts of the earth which water does not touch remain barren; so, the centres in the body, with all their intuitive, innate capacities, remain unproductive if the breath does not reach them."

Breathing and Meditation
February 14, 2009
In the words of Hazrat Inayat Khan, "Why is Breath called Prana by the Hindus? It is because it brings on the surface the essence from within. It is a current which is running from the outer spheres to the inner spirit. What it brings from the outer spheres to the inner spirit is not nearly so great as that which it brings from the inner spheres of life."
